we get 2 personal days a year - but so far i've lost them all because i'm only vaguely aware of their existence.

I took a mental health moment in class when the same 3 kids were answering the math questions, and everyone else stared at me clueless. I stopped and talked to them and told them they had to PROVE to me they understood. I called a bunch of them out by name.... ___ is back there reading, ___ is up here playing with something.(etc).. how can I tell if you are learning this?? I forget what else I said, but it worked! And I think they all or almost all ended up getting the lesson, yay. With the extra hormones, I actually almost cried when I started talking to them though! And again later when one of my kids somehow managed to fall off the bottom stair onto the back of his head and we weren't sure how injured he was! (not much luckily.)

My "angel" was sent home until 2008. She's out of control... stealing staff walkie talkies and running around yelling on them... refusing to cooperate with anyone, refusing to go to detention, and so on. She is difficult with me, but not usually bad like she is whenever she leaves my room/presence.

I think winter break is going to be my mental health break, though it's long overdue!
