kermit and elvis
So yesterday we went to the wedding of my officemate, just across the Wisconsin border an hour north of us. (Her now-husband teaches at a college up there.) But anyway, it was quite the light-hearted affair: the groomsmen were in floral print shirts, etc.
But everyone got a kick out of the music: The processional was Kermit the Frog singing about rainbows (The Rainbow Connection?), and the recessional was “A Little Less Conversation” by Elvis. Hilarious to hear that at the end of the ceremony.
We didn’t know too many people – there were a few from the Computer Science department – but the small talk at the reception was kept alive by the kissing song game: Instead of clinking glasses, your table had to all stand up and sing together:
- A song with the word “love” in it,
- A song with the word “kiss” in it, or
- A song by the band KISS.
That kept things interesting. Our table sang the Oscar-Meyer Weiner theme song. (love, remember?) Good times.
