Happy happy happy happy happy anniversary!

(You know, the song in So I Married an Ax Murderer?)
We had a wonderful anniversary week.  The celebration started with a trip to Wild Ginger (Miranda and my parents know how to say it properly :) ) on our actual anniversary (which was about two weeks ago, crazy!) and culminated in a trip to Leavenworth to stay at a mountain resort.  That is the life, let me tell you!  We walked around downtown Leavenworth until we just couldn’t take the alpine charm any more (by the way, you know a man loves you when he makes no remarks about your desire to buy wool yarn when it’s 90+ degrees outside and he must accompany you to the yarn store), then headed to the resort for walk in the woods, eat a scrumptious dinner by the river, relax by the rock pools, read, eat a scrumptious breakfast (mmm… cheese blintzes!  Anyone who remembers the time I almost cried because the cafeteria seemingly ran out of cheese blintzes during graduation weekend knows I love me a cheese blintz), hike/walk up a large hill/small mountain, and in general enjoy each other and an escape from real life.  Thanks again for the gift certificate, Mom and Dad!

We also enjoyed the sights on Highway 2, including the Iron Goat Monument (we didn’t stop) and the sign for custom knives and lodging (valuing our lives, we didn’t stop their either).  Good times.

When we returned to Seattle Sunday afternoon, Jamie had to go to a work conference, so I went to church by myself.  I don’t normally like to do that, and had to really convince myself to go.  I was really glad I did.  Look!  You can watch the sermon, too!  We could have a theological discussion on our blog comments!  Or we could have a discussion about my ridiculous affinity for cheese blintzes.  We’ll see which way it goes.
Other than that, I’ve been relaxing to a degree that would make those of you with year-round jobs dislike me severly.  I’ll leave it at that.
