That’s a first!
Yesterday I woke up to a phone call from an overly perky Sprint employee who MISPRONOUNCED OUR LAST NAME! I have never had that happen. Most of you who read this blog know our last name and know that it:
- Is very common
- Follows the rules of standard English phonetics (no silent Qs in the middle or anything)
- Contains a word very common to the English vocabulary.
The person was a native speaker of English and still had troubles. Odd.
She also asked if I was James. Now, it was first thing in the morning, but I like to think I don’t sound mannish, even then.
LOL.
how DID she say it?
She used a short a instead of a long one, and hesitated before she tried. I forgot to mention that before becoming completely incredulous I did ask Jamie if our name is spelled correctly on our Sprint bill. It is.
