Group Participation Time!
So, let’s say that you were offered a job teaching in a language that is not our primary for a large portion of the day. It would be about a 45 minute commute (at least) from where you plan on living. You would really like to become bilingual, and this job would give you that opportunity. What would you do? :)
other than the commute it sounds great. It might be worth a shot for the year then reevaluate what the commute does to you.
heck yes.
When do you have to decide? Is there a bus from a park and ride? If there is a bus you can get a lot done in an hour riding both ways and it is much cheaper than the gas will be. It is a great opportunity. Of course you can always sub and be checking out the different schools at your leisure. So exciting!
did they offer you the job already? if you have any time before having to answer, i’d stall and see if there was a better option! :) Can you accept and later turn it down? (Not that this would be very nice or appreciated by them….)
I’d say it would deserve some good, hard prayer. A 45 min. commute in Seattle can easily turn into 2 miserable hours. Also, the job would be difficult because of all the prep time you would need as well as the high probability that you would be working with some difficult students. I’d be inclined to decline, then check out nearby schools that you would enjoy. A lot of jobs open up over the summer, so when you get here you could physically visit schools and get ideas. Also, your husband will now make enough to keep you going, so even if you didn’t find a job immediately, you’d be OK. Right?!
woohoo! You’re coming! Yaaaaay!!! :D
I’d buy a hybrid and go for it! :) Although I like the bus idea too…
