We won!
It was our day at the company picnic! First, our relay team won (despite our rather creative interpretation of the rules) and was rewarded Starbucks cards. Then my raspberry rhubarb pie took home the BEST OVERALL award! Yes, I hate all caps as much as you do, but it seems worth it given that the prize was a pie crust shield (I’ve wanted one for years, but never plunked down the roughly $8 to get one), a copy of the Joy of Cooking, a million dollars (may or may not have been play money), a purple foam crown, and bragging rights. Yeah, it was pretty exciting. Almost as exciting as the bounce house and ponies. Almost.
Oh, and Grandma, people LOVED your crust recipe!

what, may i ask, is a “bounce house” ???

A bounce house is one of those giant inflatable house things that kids go in and jump until someone cries or throws up. I think there were only tears shed in the aforementioned bounce house.
