There is a very important, interesting experience I forgot to include in my post about yesterday. When we arrived at small group, I got out of the car and…
MY GLASSES FOGGED UP!
Yes, it is indeed humid enough for the temperature difference between a mildly air-conditioned car and the outdoors to cause condensation on my lenses. Sheesh.

Yesterday was a busy day. I went to school from 10-2 (with a Los Magotes Burrito break in the middle… yum!) and worked on getting my classroom unpacked and set up. My library is a mess (Raina?) and I don’t know where to put the ginormous rubber tree plant I inherited from the last occupant of the room. Oh well. I am getting excited for school to start, especially since this time I feel a bit more under control and like I know what I’m going (well, except when another teacher comes into my room and asks why the beautiful new place value chart I put on the wall says “trillions, billions, billionths, millionths, billions, millions,…” Oh well, you can’t win ‘em all).
After school, I went home to see my hubby and do my reading for small group. After accomplishing both goals, I met a friend at the hair salon and got a rather drastic haircut. Pictures to follow (it is the crucial day 2 after a haircut when you figure out how it actually looks, not how it looks when the stylist styles it). It was a bit of an act of faith to sit in the chair, however, since I couldn’t wear my glasses while she was cutting. I think it turned out okay, though.
Okay, so don’t hit “alt+u” while typing an entry because instead of underlining the title of a book, it will actually undo your whole paragraph. What I put up with for proper grammar.
After the haircuts, we ran errands and ate dinner at Joy Yee (which I highly recommend). Then we went to small group where we are reading (underline) Adventures in Missing the Point by Campolo and McLaren. Very thought-provoking.
And then I returned home to see my hubby. What had he been doing while I was gone? Working from home, putting away a bunch of wedding gifts in the kitchen, taking out the garbage, taking boxes to storage, putting the laundry away, and mopping the floors. What a way to say “I love you.”
Yup, I married a winner, too.
