Firsts!
I meant to write this post on St. Patrick’s Day, but then didn’t. For a week.
St. Patrick’s Day was a day of firsts for me. Two teacher-friends and I went to the first McDonald’s for shamrock shakes. I think that was the first time I’d been in a McDonalds since Paris. I’d forgotten how good the shakes can be.
My next first was my first trip to a real, live, fancy schmancy yarn store! The first yarn I picked up happened to be $90–I didn’t buy it. It was really pretty, though! I’m glad the store is far away, or I’d have lots of ’splainin’ to do!
My last first was my first corned beef and cabbage. I was a little wary of bright pink pickled meat (sorry Bianca), but pleasantly surprised at the taste thereof.
Speaking of lasts, I just realized that this Spring Break will probably be our last “visit” to Washington! Yay! I will be so excited to see friends and family and live there too! For those of you wondering about our itinerary, Jamie is uberbusy. He has 4 interviews lined up. I, on the other hand, feel like sitting around the whole time. I should pound the pavement with my (recently updated) resume and such, but a large part of me does not want to do anything of the sort. We’ll see which part wins. Anyway, evenings are semi-free (family commitments and such), and Becky’s schedule is pretty open.
2.5 Days stand between me and a break! Whee!
