Would anyone like to buy some frozen cookie dough to support my school?  I’m taking orders until the 12th. :)

One of the main things that bugged me leaving my job in Chicago was wasted sick leave.  It got to the point that I wouldn’t have had to work Fridays for the last month I was there if I didn’t want to.  Should I use all my days or actually teach my kids?  It was a quandary.

Yesterday I got an envelope from my old school district.  Inside was the direct deposit notice for my sick leave balance.  Yes, I got paid for the days I didn’t take.  Um, what?  No one at my school knew I would get one of those and just about everyone encouraged me to take as many days as I could.  Good thing I only took 2 or 3!

The other good thing is that now I’ve technically been paid in another state this year.  Yay for filing federal and state taxes again this year! :)

Oops.  What do you mean, comments and archives weren’t working?  Why didn’t anyone say something?  Oh, wait… right…
