Jamie put chains on the car in hopes of taking me to the craft store because my quilting pen ran out and the library because I finished my book. Now, if that’s not love, I don’t know what is. Of course, the store and library closed five minutes ago because of the weather, so we couldn’t go and now he’s fixing the chains so he can get to work tomorrow. But still, I think he’s got a bit of a thing for me.

The local news has been covering the snow nonstop. It gets a bit tedious, but once in a while you get a good quote:
“On a scale of 1 to 10, he rates the storm as very bad.”
Nice.

It must be bad out in Bothell because they have already canceled school for tomorrow. No last Secret Santa gifts, no dorky holiday crafts, no typing up compliments the kids wrote to each other for holiday gifts. Sigh.
At least I can save the cookie making until tomorrow.

No school again. Today I shall sew and make cookie dough and see if I can come up with a Christmas Holiday craft for the kids to do in a day. Here’s hoping there’s school tomorrow!

There is no school today due to snow. Mind you, it hasn’t snowed here, so I can only assume there is a blizzard no less than 15 miles away. Either way, I don’t have to/can’t go to work today. Yet I’m up at 6:30 and can’t go back to sleep. More time to do all kinds of exciting things!
Currently on my list (developed in my head when I couldn’t go to sleep at 5:30, either):
- Finish cleaning up after small group Monday night
- Laundry
- Exercise
Online Christmas shopping done!
- Blog (almost done!)
- Revise lesson plans
- Read kids’ drafts of stories
- Finish library book (preferably at Starbucks–seriously, there is no new snow here)
- Return library books
- Be crafty
- Make chili and rolls for dinner so we’ll have delicious leftovers
Should be a good day. It’s weird to have a day off in the middle of the week without that nagging shouldn’t-have-called-a-sub-could-have-made-it-to-school-if-I-wasn’t-such-a-wimp feeling.
Speaking of good days, we’ve had lots of them since I posted last. Thanksgiving was great: two dinners with family, time with Raina at EMP, general relaxing and doing nothing. School is going pretty well. All of my conferences were pretty good and I’m still feeling (mostly) on top of things. It’s still fun to be small group hosts and the group is humming along.
Hope you are all safe and warm.
