Tidbits to Start the New Year

  1. I now have an appreciation for the ability to drive on city streets and have nice people pick up my garbage regularly after over a week of neither of those things being a possibility.  My heart goes out to you, Spokane.
  2. I come home each day and tell Jamie “The kids were pretty good today.”  Either my students’ behavior has improved, or my ability to manage said behavior is astronomically better than before the break.
  3. We’re going on a field trip tomorrow.  The above conclusion may change very quickly.
  4. The kiddos have started using air quotes when they talk about Santa.  Then they misuse air quotes and make fun of each other for doing so.
  5. Anyone with ideas for teaching ten year-olds to sing songs in rapid Spanish should feel free to leave tips in the comments section.
  6. The new sermon series at church has a 1920s vibe to it (well, the stage does, the content is more 60 AD style).
  7. There are cannoli in our fridge leftover from last night’s small group.  Sweet.
  8. Jamie still likes his job and his wife and even took her to a musical last weekend!  What a guy.
