Last Day

Tomorrow is the last day of school.  It’s also my last day of work (though I may get on the sub list for next year until Baby Baker makes his/her debut).  I’m thrilled to be staying home with the baby, but sad to be leaving my school.  I feel like I’ve learned so much this year and could be so much better at teaching next year, but I won’t get to try.  Sigh.

In other news, Baby has started moving!  It feels like twinges, bubbles, and flutters, and I have to remind myself that it is OUR CHILD making those feelings!  I’ll try to post a belly pic soon.  I must be showing, since today someone asked me how many I was having (FYI, not a good thing to say to a pregnant woman!).  Nice.

Softball

Today’s theme is softball.  Jamie has a softball game today, and according to one source, the baby is the size of a softball.  :)  (It varies from orange to apple to softball, depending on where you look.)

I had a doctor appointment (is it doctor appointment or doctor’s appointment?  Discuss.) yesterday.  All is well, from weight gain to heartbeat to water consumption.  Kind of a boring appointment, actually.  I guess I’d better get used to going in just say hi.

I went to school after my appointment and got to enjoy the talent show.  The best part was a kid playing Summer Time Blues on the saxophone–I think I felt the baby move!  We may have a little woodwind player on our hands!

Seriously, Baby?

I planned salmon for dinner, and Baby decided it needed to be salmon en croute.  Seriously?  Does this kid think we’re that fancy?  Hate to burst your bubble, but that’s not normal fare around here, kiddo!

Off to thaw the puff pastry… :)

uterus on the internet

And the baby.  Though sure, it doesn’t really resemble us yet – you’ll just have to take our word for it.  Watching the heart beat, its arms and legs move, was quite amazing.  The pictures don’t do it justice at all.  What you’re seeing are a couple similar slices that catch a face profile (facing up, from the right side) with a portion of torso.  A glimpse of a knee shows in the 2nd picture.  There were other great ones, but these are the ones they printed out for us.  So… seems almost real to us now!  Click through for larger images.

Sick Sick Sick

I started getting a cold on Friday.  Can take approximately nothing due to the little pumpkin.  I usually don’t take a lot of medicine for colds, but it seems worse knowing that I can’t even if I wanted to.  Starting a load of laundry took almost all of my energy, so I’m pretty sure I won’t be going to work on Monday. I already was planning on taking a half day for our first ultrasound!  That certainly cheers me up–we get to see the baby tomorrow!

Time for more Gatorade and lying around.
