Happy Mother’s Day!
We’re going to be parents! :)
Really!
Jamie and I indeed went to PF Chang’s last night and discovered that it was prom night and many prom goers wanted to partake of delicious Chinese food. We had to sit in the bar because there were two groups of about 16 with reservations. Luckily, the bar overlooked the dining room, so we had prime people watching spots. Our favorite outfits included the knee-length poofy dresses (think Shirley Temple), bag dresses (seriously, they were also knee length and looked a lot like wearing a bag), and the guy who was wearing a tux with an orange vest, orange sneakers, orange baseball hat (backwards, of course), and orange plastic sunglasses. I enjoyed imagining what my dad would have done if either of my prom dates had shown up attired as such. It was also delightful to reminisce about proms and realize how much better my current date is than any prom date could have been. :)
It’s 11:15 and I’m still in my jammies. I plan on staying that way for a long time. So far I’ve made blueberry muffins and a vanilla latte for breakfast, and now I plan on reading and knitting all afternoon. I’m so happy!
I also discovered that if I ask Jamie something while he’s half asleep, it’s really easy to get him to agree. Case in point: this evening we’ll be going to PF Chang’s for dinner and then shopping at Old Navy (massive capri sale, I hear). I’m guessing he wouldn’t have agreed to that plan if fully awake, or he really likes me. :)
It’s WASL time in 4th grade. It means less planning and a whole lot more #2 pencils and snacks than usual. I’m not supposed to look at the kids’ work, which is good, since I don’t really want to know.
